During Holy Week, we held a Maundy Thursday worship at Barnabas Community. There was feet and hand washing. There was a bountiful table of socks, lotion, nail files and clippers donated for our community to take home. There was the breaking of bread.
The story of Maundy Thursday, Jesus' message of kindness, service, and inclusion, was truly lived out at Barnabas that evening. A community member, after having her feet washed, was completely puzzled that the leaders' feet weren't getting their feet washed. So she offered to do so! Never having washed feet before, she humbly got on her knees and offered us a prayer.
This is the beauty God is unfolding in this place. Thanks be to God!
